Key Performance Indicators

  • Business and Profitability
    • Net Sales achievement by creating programs and selling stories targeted to the trade to increase sell-in
    • Increase in numerical and weighted distribution in all product categories
    • Management of BDF and POS Investment according to budget and forecast
  • Store Activation:
    • Increase in permanent and seasonal shelf spaces and visibility
    • Growth in rate of sales through product assortment, planograming and merchandising
    • Achievement of key events KPIs, including, but not limited to Back to School, pop-up stores, in-store roadshows
  • Market & Analysis: Insightful analysis of the competitors, shoppers and internal sales performance

Job Environment

  • Managing diversity with regards to different nationalities, cultures and management styles
  • Managing and influencing Business Development Managers and local country Trade Marketing Managers to align on common trade strategy and tactics
  • Creating awareness for the brand that is relatively new to target consumers with limited budget
  • Local country implementation of marketing initiatives
  • Managing and motivating vendors so that they are willing to invest in company's account despite slower ROIs
  • Travels in key South East Asia markets as and when required


  • Business and Profitability
    • Convert Category strategies into go-to-market tactics ensuring area objectives are met
    • Convert go-to-market tactics into a strong sales toolbox per key channel. Sales toolboxes must be updated at least once a year.
    • Create distributor/wholesaler programs to drive sell-in
    • Create strong selling stories to gain listings and exclusivity
    • Develop tools to expand distribution in key channels: Bookstores, CVS, Traditional Trade and Hyper/Super
    • Protect area profitability through regular reviews with countries of trade initiatives
    • Tracking of POS and ROIs
    • Lead promotions and visibility synergy across countries to gain economies of scale
    • Manage external suppliers and deal with cost negotiations
  • Store Activation
    • Work with Product Manager SEA to create portfolio-channel/customer mapping
    • Lead visibility-channel/customer mapping across SEA
    • Set overall planograming and merchandising guidelines across the area
    • Devise a sell-out program to increase rate of sales and basket value through consumer promotions, participation in retailer promotion and/or cross-category promotions
    • Spearhead activations in the stores, including but not limited to, Back-to-School, in-store roadshows, and pop-up stores
    • Provide sales talk script and training to promoters
    • Work closely with local Trade Marketing Managers to synergize POS and promotions across the area
    • Ensure brand consistency in all trade and marketing collaterals (flyers, POS, promoter uniforms)
  • Market & Analysis
    • Collect and provide first level analysis of internal sales data, competitors and shoppers to support the development of South East Asia plan
    • Track competitor prices across key channels
    • Pre- and post- reviews of trade and in-store programs
  • ReportingandAdhoc
    • Assist General Manager in Annual Operating Plans
    • Coach and guide local country Trade Marketing Managers
    • Preparation of Distributor/Customer presentation
    • Quarterly sharing of best practices
    • Monthly meeting with regional Marketing Team
    • At least once a month calls with countries for year-to-date and year-to-go plans
